While there won’t be a Celebration Métis this year (hopefully there’ll be one next year!), the VMCA is hosting a picnic so Métis people can gather together as a community. VMCA will be providing drinks but bring your own picnic food. There is a concession stand nearby if you want to buy lunch instead.
Note: Please bring your own barbeque equipment if you would like to barbeque.
Steering Committee
VMCA is on the Project Steering Committee of the Dialogues project between First Nations, Urban Aboriginal and Immigrant Communities in Vancouver, an initiative convened by the City of Vancouver, in collaboration with community partners. Its goal is to promote increased understanding and stronger relationships between Indigenous and immigrant communities within the City. There have been many community visits, such as to the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre, the Musqueam reserve and the Ismaili Centre.
The majority of the resources listed are for adults and children.
Special Thanks to Jessie for putting this together!
